ELECTRICAL INSULATION

Insulation is vital for managing stray currents within the various electrical systems in  wind turbines and generators, mitigating the risk of unintended electrical contact, and minimizing potential safety hazards. Insulation tape with high dielectric strength serves as a crucial component, establishing a barrier between conductive materials. However, over time, wear and tear, coupled with exposure to environmental conditions, can lead to the degradation of insulation tape. In such cases, replacement becomes necessary to prolong the lifespan of equipment and prevent premature failures.

Our robust inventory of dielectric tapes, particularly those made of Nomex, play a crucial role in the insulation and protection of field coils, motors, and connectors within generators. Nomex is a heat and flame-resistant material, known for its high dielectric strength, thermal stability, and durability, that can withstand the immense heat generated during operation to prevent insulation breakdown and increase efficiency.

CUSTOM LENGTH HIGH VOLTAGE & LOW VOLTAGE WIRE

Wind turbines and generators require an extensive network of cables and wiring to transmit electrical power efficiently. Starting at the connection to the terminal, EIS has what it takes to get the job done efficiently. From high voltage to low voltage, jacketed, braided or silicon covered, EIS has the materials and expertise to cut and spool custom-length high voltage wire specific to your application needs.

SAFETY LABELS

The printing and fabrication of safety labels is an important aspect of ensuring the safe manufacturing, operation, maintenance, and servicing of wind turbines and generators. Safety labels are typically affixed to various components and parts of the turbine to provide crucial information and warnings to operators, maintenance personnel, and anyone involved with the turbine. EIS is a custom fabricator and printer of industrial, specialty, UL, and pressure-sensitive labels with thicknesses ranging from 0.002 inches to 0.012 inches (thicker depending on the material) and widths up to 13 inches. We help customers to select the appropriate materials, adhesives, and more for safety labels.

NONMETALLIC WEDGES

Nonmetallic wedges play various roles in wind turbines and generators, contributing to efficient operation, structural integrity, and ease of maintenance due to their lightweight and often modular nature. The fabrication of non-metallic wedges for wind turbines involves producing specialized components used in the assembly and maintenance. Nonmetallic wedges are often made from materials that are lightweight, durable, and resistant to environmental factors such as moisture, UV radiation, and temperature variations.

Typically made from composite materials or polymers that offer a good balance of strength, flexibility, and resistance to environmental conditions, wedges can be used in rotor blade mounting, alignment of components, vibration damping, insulation and isolation, thermal management, corrosion resistance, and more.
